Sachie "Jackie" Bivins Obituary (1939

Sachie (Jackie) Bivins passed into her Heavenly home peacefully on July 7, 2021. Jackie has resided in Spalding County, Georgia for nearly forty years. She adored cats, her own and the many strays near her rural home. Jackie loved children and her colorful flower gardens and was a strong patriot of all things American. Jackie was a dedicated member of Rock Springs Church, Milner, GA for over forty years. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Shirley Shatzoff of Griffin, Georgia and her daughter, Vickie Shatzoff of Chesapeake, Virginia; a cousin, George and Cory Glisson-Munier of San Marcos, TX; and a nephew, Tim and Jacky Buffet of Charleston, SC. Jackie thrived on her village of loving, faithful friends who remained beside her and enriched her life journey. Thank you to Sachico and Mimi Eagles of Ridgefield, WA, Cheryl Sanders of Griffin, GA, Julie Pharr of Jackson, GA, Machelle Cronin of Thomaston, GA, Teresa Eaton of Griffin, GA and Debra Christian of Ellijay, GA. Skilynn Jade Forshaw of Moss Point, MS and Maddison Statham of Griffin, GA are special children who brought great joy to Jackie’s life. The exceptional care and hometown community service from Dale Ammons, First National Bank, Griffin, GA; Nic Bland, U Save It, Griffin, GA, Internal Medicine, Griffin, GA and Bridgeway Hospice, Stockbridge, GA added immense quality to Jackie’s life. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Rock Springs Church with Dr. Benny Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Church Cemetery. Mrs. Bivins will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Following the funeral, family and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of Jackie’s life at her favorite eating place, The Corner Café Restaurant, 101 N Hill St, Griffin, GA 30223.
