Rev. Leroy Jones

Rev. Leroy Jones, age 90, of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his residence. Rev Jones was born on June 3, 1931 in Raymond, Ga. He was the son of the late Charlie “Ted” Melvin Jones and Irene Beckham Jones. Rev. Jones was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for many years. He pastored many churches across Georgia. Rev. Jones was a long-time member of First Assembly of God. In the recent years he and his family attended First Wesleyan Church. In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Jones Smith and his siblings. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, J. Eloies Hall Jones; daughters, Kathy Jones Woodruff and Angela Jones Cree; son, Kevin Jones; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sister, Martha Jones Ogletree; nieces, nephews, and other family also survive. Memorial services to celebrate the life of Rev. Leroy Jones will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the First Wesleyan Church, Hwy 16, Griffin, Ga. The family will receive friends from 1:00 Pm until the service hours at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Wesleyan Church or to New Life Radio.
