Jessie Maxine Fowler Fitts

Mrs. Jessie Maxine Fitts, age 93, of Griffin, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Fitts was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a retired underwriter/supervisor for Kemper Insurance Company, Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Fitts was born in Forsyth County, Georgia, on July 21, 1927. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Ancel Fowler and Faithy Samples Fowler; her beloved husband of 71 years, Hubert Fitts; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children and spouses: Ann McGowan (Bill), Joyce Anderson, Dale Vaughn (Tony), Vicki Holt, Max Fitts (Sharon), Kathy Coggins (Tim); and Angela Fitts (Stu). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jessica Brinson, Charlie Vaughn, Cassie Larate, Phillip McGowan, Shelley Burdette, Travis Holt, Jonathan Fitts, Emily Holt and Jordan Dean; and eleven great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Olivia and Elliott Larate, Vaughn and Ruthie Brinson, Landon Bivins, Liberty Grigory, Jessee and Lili Grace Vaughn, and Wyatt and Avery Burdette; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you is extended to caregivers Betty Reid, Jeanette Fergerson, and Debbie Newbern. Also, thanks and appreciation are extended to the outstanding nurses with Brightmoor Hospice. A graveside service for the family and close friends of Mrs. Jessie M. Fitts will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at Westwood Gardens, 1155 Everee Inn Road, Griffin, GA. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held inside the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home at the same address. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Impact Christian Ministries, 115 W. Solomon Street, Griffin, GA 30223.
