Gayla Harper Thomas

Gayla Irene Harper Thomas, 58, of Griffin, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at Eternal Hope Hospice. Born in Griffin, October 11, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Lee and Georgia Louise Moore Harper. She was retired after many years of service in the textile industry, having worked at both Dundee and 1888 Mills. Ms. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Robert Thomas; and a brother, Samuel Harper. Survivors include a daughter, Jordan Thomas of Griffin; grandchildren, Journee and Jersey; brother, David Lee Harper and wife Yvette of Griffin; three sisters, Linda Landers and husband Bill of Thomaston, Jane Wilson and husband Anthony of Meansville and Phyllis Harper of Thomaston; former husband, Chuck Thomas; special friends, James Bunn, Becky Johnson and Becky Meninger; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home.
