David Cleveland Scoggins

David Cleveland Scoggins, 72, of McDonough, husband of Lyla Lee Wright Scoggins, died Friday, December 27, 2024, at Piedmont Henry Hospital. Born in Moultrie, June 24, 1952, he was a son of the late Reverend Arzo Cleveland Scoggins, Jr. and Blanche Cannon Scoggins. David formerly worked for Interstate Battery Company for many years and the Coca-Cola Company for ten years, retiring from Scoggins Distributing. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in McDonough. Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty years are a son, Jeremy Scoggins of Griffin; daughter, Lauren McGarity Reeves and husband Dain of Buckhead; grandchild, Rylan Scoggins; brother, John Scoggins and wife Dolly of Griffin; niece, Ashley Patton and husband Brad of Woolsey; nephew, Dustin Scoggins of Buckhead; and four great-nieces. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Westwood Gardens with Brother David Norman officiating.
