David Bryan O'Quinn

David Bryan O'Quinn, 82, of Auburn, AL, formerly of Griffin died Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Auburn Assisted Living. Born in Fernandina Beach, FL, December 18, 1939, he was a son of the late Bobby and Margaret (maiden name) O'Quinn. David was a 1957 graduate of Fernandina Beach High School where he was active in athletic and civic endeavors. He developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for hunting and fishing. He was privileged to have worked with his father in the Shrimping Industry. He attended West Georgia College and graduated from Mercer University in 1961. David was a member of the SAE Fraternity and served in the US Army National Guard. He began his career in Property and Casualty employed with Crawford and Company and later worked for Commercial Union Insurance Company before retiring after ten years of service from Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance company. David devoted much time to youth athletics, football, little league and senior league sports where he was privileged to watch his children develop and participate in High School, College League and Professional level sports. He was a member of Griffin First United Methodist Church where he was very active until his move to Auburn. Surviving in addition to his wife, Joanne O'Quinn are sons, Bryan O'Quinn and wife Lisa of Woodstock, Steve O'Quinn and wife Sheri of Lizella, Pat O'Quinn and wife Leah of Forsyth and Jeff O'Quinn of Macon; step-sons, Lee Johnson and wife Carol of Colorado Springs, CO and Scott Johnson and wife Linda of Auburn, AL; a sister, Shirley A. O'Quinn of Milledgeville; and grandchildren, Joshua O'Quinn and wife Karin, Lindsey Davis and husband Jay, Katie Myers and husband Chris, John Michael O'Quinn, Jamie O'Quinn and Jordan O'Quinn, Dustin Johnson and wife Katherine, Shay Miller and husband Chandler and Seaborn Johnson and wife Lindsey; and great-grandchildren, Abby Grace Davis, Brooks David O'Quinn, Rief Johnson, Sullivan Johnson, Walker Johnson, Channing Miller and Walker Miller. A memorial service for David Bryan O'Quinn will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Debby Stikes officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
