Carlise James Cobb Obituary (1933

Carlise James Cobb, 90, of Griffin, widower of Marjorie Hughes Cobb, died Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his home. Born in Calhoun, September 26, 1933, he was a son of the Reverend Emmett Franklin Cobb and Annie Lee Mealor Cobb. Mr. Cobb was retired after over twenty-five years of service from General Motors. A mason for over fifty years, Mr. Cobb enjoyed working on his farm and tending his cows. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church, where he was the song leader and member of the choir. In addition to his parents and wife of twenty-nine years, Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Cobb. Surviving are children and their spouses, Del Hunter and Ellen Harbour of Jefferson, Donnie Hunter and Phyllis of Cumming; grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon Hunter and Jordan of San Antonio, TX and Nichole Hunter Johnson and Cole of Roswell; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Hattie and Penny; brothers, Robert Cobb of Adairsville, Dallas Cobb and Dianne of Calhoun; a sister, Gail Pierce and Thomas of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Buster Dockins officiating. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
