Carey D. "Danny" Copeland

Carey D. “Danny” Copeland, 72, of Griffin, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital. Born in October 14, 1953, he was the youngest child of C.D. and Fannie Jones Copeland. A completing high school, Danny enlisted in the US Marie Corps. He was deployed during the Vietnam War to Thailand. After serving his country, he returned to Griffin. With his experience in the crash corps during his service, he later joined the Griffin Fire Department. He was a firefighter for twenty-three years and also worked for Griffin Glass Company for many years. After his retirement he spent as much time as possible on the golf course as he could. Survivors include his sons, Carey D. Copeland and Michael Copeland and wife Adrienne; grandchildren, Hudson, Jackson and Easton; and mother of his children, Amanda Whitaker. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Debby Stikes officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
