    Thomas Allen "Tommy" Reems

    August 31, 1941 - October 29, 2021

    Thomas Allen “Tommy” Reems, 80, of Griffin died Friday, October 29, 2021 at Brightmoor Nursing Center. Born in Jefferson, August 31, 1941, he was a son of the late Paul Marion and Mary Elizabeth Lawrence Reems. Tommy formerly served as an upholsterer at Rich’s Department store for over twenty-five years and was an avid train enthusiast and was a former member of the Historical Train Society. Mr. Reems was a member of Devotie Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Tommy was preceded in death by a brother, David Reems. Survivors include a brother, Wesley Reems and wife Nancy; nieces, Misty Mays and husband Robby and Lindsay Arnold, all of Griffin; and a nephew, Dave Reems of Jackson; several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 PM at Westwood Gardens with Reverend Travis Cook officiating. The family would especially like to thank Brightmoor Nursing Center and Brightmoor Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion that Tommy received.
