Rodney Earl Modlin, 67, of Griffin, husband of Sandra Kay Tarter Modlin died Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Spalding Regional Medical Center. Born in Anderson, Indiana, August 8, 1952, he was a son of Greta Turner Brickner and the late Donald Earl Modlin. He was a Veteran having served in the US Air Force and had formerly worked for CEVA in the Freight Forwarding Industry. He was a loving husband, father and PawPaw. Mr. Modlin formerly lived at Jackson Lake where he introduced his granddaughter to his love for fishing. He formerly hunted and camped and had been a member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-two years and his mother and step-father Jerry Bricker of Indiana are a daughter, Trena Nixon and husband Clay of McDonough; a granddaughter, Hailey Collins; brother, Kent Modlin and wife Jill of Michigan; sisters, Louanna Shreve and Rayna Richter and husband Joe, all of Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services will be conducted.
