Jimmie Ira Morris, 83, of Griffin, husband of Sara Frances Canup Morris died Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his home. Born in Monticello, April 24, 1938, he was a son of the late Joseph Thomas and Blanche Hand Morris. Mr. Morris had served in the Georgia National Guard for nine years and was owner and operator of Morris Cabinet Shop for over thirty years. He loved motorcycles and rode nearly every day until his health failed. He was a charter member of the Gold Wings Riders Association. Mr. Morris was proud of his sobriety that he had held for over thirty years. He attended many AA meeting throughout Griffin where he sponsored others and led the meetings hoping he could help people find the change in their lives that he had found in his life. Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-nine years are three sons, Keith L. Morris and wife Dani of Griffin, Terry W. Morris and wife Cathy of Milner and Scott I. Morris and wife Jenny of Griffin; a daughter, Tara Hammond and husband Brian of Williamson; grandchildren, Lindsey Ortiz and husband Roberto, Jennifer Morris, Christina Brock, Wesley Morris, Joshua Morris, Brittany Stephens, Nathan Hammond and Benjamin Hammond; a brother, Glenn Morris and wife Anne of Flagler Beach, FL; a sister, Joanne Cann of Port St. Joe, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Ira Morris will be conducted Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens.
