Jack Walker "Jackie" Harris Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jack Walker Harris, 99, of Griffin, GA died on May 28th, 2022. “Jackie” was the daughter of Lamar and Nita Walker, and the loving wife of Winfred “Wink” Harris. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Davies, and baby brother, George Lamar Walker, Jr. Jackie is survived by three sons, their spouses, and one daughter: Randy and Claudia Harris, Bill and Meg Harris, Wynn and Anne Harris all of Griffin, and her daughter, Delle Corley, who resides in Peachtree City. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Jackie was a woman who loved her life. She loved her God, her family, friends, pets, and community. Jackie became a member of the First Baptist Church in 1933. She got married, raised her children, and spent the rest of her life living in Griffin. Above everything in Jackie’s life, she loved her family with her whole heart. She was especially happy spending time at the lake when all of the kids and grandchildren would come for the weekend. Yes, all of us together! The house would be bursting at the seams, but she loved it! She loved dancing, swimming, playing games, and just being with everyone. Jackie was known for her humor, sassiness, kindness, storytelling, and “Memom-isms.” Her final years were spent living at “The Woods” with additional support from Eternal Hope Hospice. She was treated with so much love, respect, dignity, and compassion. Our family will never be able to express our love and gratitude to all of the caregivers who became family. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be a reception at 2:00 PM at the home of Wynn and Anne Harris, 1000 East College Street in Griffin. Friends are invited to stop by and join the family in the Celebration of Life for Jackie Walker Harris.
