Gloria Virginia Dowd Leverett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gloria Virginia Dowd Leverett, 86, of Griffin, widow of William Edgar Leverett died Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at her home. Born in Atlanta, January 31, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Carolyn Virginia Caldwell Dowd. Mrs. Leverett was employed as office manager with Fairview Memorial Gardens for over fifteen years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Gail Eagle and husband Bob of Griffin and Lynn McKinley and husband Marty of Hampton; grandchildren, Robert Eagle and wife Shannon, Sherri Eagle, Shannon Reach, Christy Pittman and husband Kyle, Cathy Norwood and husband Ben and Kayla Appling and husband Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Chelsea Eagle, Katelyn Eagle, Taylor Pittman, Madison Pittman, Fiona Norwood, Stella Norwood, Payson Norwood, Malachi Appling and Asher Appling. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Stringham and Reverend Ryan Appling officiating. Private burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1332 Zebulon Road, Griffin, GA 30224 in memory of Mrs. Leverett.
