Francis (Frank) DeBenedittis, 81, passed away on December 30, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by 3 daughters: Krisann (1973), Beverly (1994) and Teresa (2019) and 1 granddaughter, Sarah DeBenedittis (2007). In addition to his wife and children, Frank leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Frank was raised in New York and graduated from high school in Brooklyn, New York and then joined the Air Force. He spent 12 years in the Air Force, including a tour in the Philippines. After leaving the Air Force, Frank went to work with the FAA as a civilian air traffic controller for 25 years and retired in 1996. While raising a family and working full time, Frank completed his BBA at Mercer University (Atlanta) in 1978, graduating Summa Cum Laude and was very proud of that accomplishment. Frank was an athlete his entire life and loved the game of baseball, bowled in multiple leagues for over 50 years, and developed a passion for golf when he retired. He was happiest on the golf course and loved golfing with family and friends wherever and whenever he could. Prior to moving to the Villages in 1996, Frank lived in Griffin, Georgia for over 20 years, where he and Allie were active serving and working in their community. They spent the last 26 years in The Villages enjoying retirement, making friends, and spending time with family. Condolence cards can be sent to Allie DeBenedittis at: 5867 E. County Rd 466, Apt. 1055B, The Villages, FL 32162. Visitation will be at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 1:00-3:00pm with the funeral service immediately following in the chapel at 3:00pm. Burial services will take place in Griffin, Georgia on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Westwood Garden Cemetery at 2:00pm. Due to restrictions with Covid-19, masks will be required.
