Shirley Paulette Harry Anderson

Shirley Paulette Harry Anderson, 74, of Griffin, wife of Reverend Henry Anderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 18, 2024, surrounded by her family at home. Born in Griffin, October 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Reed Harry and Mattie Beatrice Chambers Harry. Mrs. Anderson was a beloved pastor’s wife, mother, and Gmomma. She was a part of the Congregational Holiness Church and a member of North Griffin CH Church. She worked at several different school cafeterias, Dundee Mills, and Southern Crescent Resource Ministries. She was a wonderful cook and was involved in many areas including catering church activities, youth camps, weddings, and other special events throughout the years. She loved cooking and drinking coffee, but most of all she loved Jesus. People always knew where to find the best food and sweet tea. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Bobby, Bud, Tommy, and Horace Harry; sisters-in-law Shirley Harry, Dolly Anderson, and Pat Atkinson; brothers-in-law Ken Brown, Billy Perdue, Jack Jones, Bud Kempson, Jesse Gordy, and Edward Atkinson. In addition to her husband Henry of 60 years, are daughters Darlene Parks (Mitch), Donna Stephens (Juan); sons James Walter Anderson ”Bubby”, and Joey Anderson; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers Dennis Harry, Kenneth Harry (Libby), Barry Harry (Cindy); sisters Brenda Brown, Kathy Perdue; brothers-in-law Reverend Billy Anderson (Eloise), Ricky Anderson (Helen), Jesse Anderson(Joan); sisters-in-law Linda Harry, Brenda Harry, Melinda Harry, Barbara Kempson, Sally Gordy, Louise Jones, Elizabeth Buice (Troy), and Peggy Beavers (Glenn); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at West Sunnyside Community Church with Reverend Curt Johnson and Reverend Billy Anderson officiating. Private burial will be in the Anderson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the church.
