SHARON DARLENE NIELSEN TRACY Sharon Darlene Fitzjohn was born July 10th,1948 in Rockford Illinois but she grew up in many places. Some good and some very bad. Her fondest moments were spending time with her grandparents where she gardened and learned to cook. She was a dancer at heart and enjoyed ice skating and fell in love with books, but her turbulent childhood drove her to her greatest desire, which was to have a family. Her efforts were thwarted by a lack of ability to get pregnant so her determination became more of an obsession and therefore she decided to adopt a little girl whom she would name Angel. Not too long after she was blessed with the miracle of a successful pregnancy of her own resulting in her second daughter Kristi and so her family was complete. Or though she thought. November 22nd,1996 she became Mama, which was what her first grandson Jordin called her, and soon after came her second grandson Zachary given to her by her eldest daughter and her husband Michael. This was not the end as her youngest daughter married her husband John, who Sharon thought of as her own son, and together they gifted Sharon her first granddaughter Ansley, thus Mamo was born. Just when we all thought this family to be complete, Kristi announced that she would be adding to the fold another little boy who would become what Sharon referred to as a gentle giant, his given name Avery. In September of 2022 she became a Great grandmother for the first time when Zachary and his girlfriend Macey surprised us all with a little spitfire named Maggie who adored her Mamo. We are all certain that this will not be the only great grandchild Sharon will have but we are fortunate that she was able to meet this latest member if for no other reason but to get a glimpse of what the future holds for this family. Our mother was a teacher throughout most of her life, she had a sense of humor that was the primary reason for her tremendous strength, and she was the one we all could not wait to share our latest news. She loved animals, music, naps and anything sweet and would always make time for those around her that needed guidance, a hug or just a friend to talk. Throughout our childhood anyone my sister and I introduced to her was instantly one of her children. She was a second mother to so many. Sharon was overjoyed with the family she had built and her love for all of us was unwavering. She is survived by a family that will truly feel her absence as she was the binding force for us all. She was not survived by all of us as she lost her eldest grandson when he was only nine. We like to think that she is with him as well as her estranged brother Rusty now. Sharon, Sher Sher, Mom, Mama, Mamo was the most loving person that truly believed there was good in everyone. Her trusting nature did not always serve her well, but she never lost that childlike innocence that made her look at the world so very differently than most. One of the very last things she said while talking to her sister Carol was "I love my family". This should not surprise anyone who knew her. She will be watching all of us and trying her best to steer us towards the things we should find most important. Sharon Nielsen Tracy passed on July 2nd, 2024, with her family surrounding her and while holding our hands she went off to be with those who have been waiting for her in heaven.
