James Gault Jr.

Mr. James Gault, Jr. was born September 9, 1937, in Griffin, Georgia to the late Roberta Roberts and Mr. James Gault Sr. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Lois Freeman Gault. At an early age, James joined the Bethel Grove C.M.E. Church and was a faithful and dedicated member. He served as a Trustees and also as Assistant Trustee Chairman. James was also a member of the Bethel Grove Male Chorus. James was united in holy matrimony to Willie Mae Roberts, she preceded him in death. To this union two children were born, Willie James and Clara. From the time he was a small boy, James worked to help provide for his family. He had many trades in which he was self-taught to include, electrician, plumber, building and auto mechanic to name a few. To many he was cousin, uncle or friend; but to his son he was a ‘Super Hero”. "He has always been there for me. To me he had extraordinary powers and gifts. His friendship, admiration and love will last for the rest of my life. His passing leaves a massive hole in my heart," said Willie. He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Willie James Gault; 2 grandchildren, Shakari Okwudibonye-Gault and husband Greg, and Gabriel James Gault and wife Devon both of California; his daughter Zina Chambers of New York and her 5 children; niece, Josie Gault and nephew Philip Gault; sisters-in-law Annie Tyce, Gladys Jordan, Odessa Akins and Nancy Hawthorne; brothers-in-law, Early James Hawthorne, Turner Hawthorne, Jessie Hawthorne, Michael Hawthorne and Leroy Hawthorne (thank you for always being there for him); cousins, Apostle Dr. Mamie Harris Smith and Berdie McCune; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. James Gault, Jr. will be conducted Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 2:30 PM at Bethel Grove CME Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Grove CME Church Cemetery.
