Donna Mae (Bradley) James

Donna Mae (Bradley) James a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother died peacefully in Griffin, Georgia surrounded by family. She was 82 years old. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Robert Carl James Sr., her parents William Henry Harrison Bradley and Luella Vonita (Mitchell) Bradley and her siblings James (Jim) Bradley, Mary Davis, William (Bill) Bradley, Betty Reynolds, Margaret Hines and Geneva Darlene Bradley. Born March 31,1942 in Canton, Ohio to William Henry Harrison Bradley and Luella Vonita Mitchell. She was educated in Canton, Ohio. Donna met and married her husband of 64 years in Canton, Ohio and they started a family, with two young children they moved to Hollywood, Florida where they lived for the next 20 years to raise their three children. Donna was a member of the Presbyterian church and a jewelry maker. In 1982 they moved to Griffin, Georgia where she worked as General Manager at the local Pizza Hut and at First Baptist Church in their preschool. She will be remembered for her generosity and her kindness to everyone she knew. She was always the rock and foundation for her family. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Donna had a personal relationship with God. You could find Donna in her favorite spot reading her bible and throughout her life she had such an amazing faith in God and in Jesus and shared that with everyone. In retirement she loved The James Family Farm in Griffin, Georgia where you would often find her in the kitchen canning jams and jellies or baking cookies, pies, cakes and breads. You would also find her at the local markets with her husband Bob and her oldest son Bobby. She was happiest spending time with family, playing cards, baking and reading. She was a cancer survivor of 25 years when in 2022 she was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. She has always been a fighter and we were blessed with another 2.5 years. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children Robert (Bobby) James and Donna (partner) Shipman, Dennis James and Denel (wife) James, and Anna James, her Grandchildren Michael James and Heather (wife) James, Bryan James and Alexis (wife) James. Lauren James and Jacob Binz, her Great Grandchildren Penny James, Samantha James, Matthew James, and Lily James. The family wishes to thank Brightmoor Hospice, Brightmoor Rehabilitation, Visiting Angels in Griffin, Georgia and Orlando, Florida, and Abide Home-care for their thoughtful service and tender care.
