Bobby Wallace McCard

Bobby Wallace McCard, 75, of Griffin, passed away from this life at his home, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, to go to be with his Lord. Born in Brooks, October 6, 1947, he was a son of the late J.V. and Nina Lucile Cobb McCard. Bobby was formerly employed with Dundee Mills, Plant #1. He loved the beach and while there enjoyed the hot tub. He was a pencil sketching artist and loved car magazines. He and his brother, Jerry were one another’s care-taker and always together. Bobby loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a precious gentle, quiet and loving soul. He loved friends and family outings. He especially loved family pets “Kittney” the cat and Samson and Possum the Chow dogs. A member of West Sunnyside Community Church, Bobby was also a member of the Reggie Shiflett Sunday School Class and the church choir. He was baptized in September of 2000. Mr. McCard was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Smith Levins. Survivors include siblings, James Smith and wife Angie of Griffin, Reverend Beverly McCard Wilson and husband Roger of Wadesboro, NC, Gail Martin and husband Tommy of Homer, Jerry McCard of Griffin and Deborah McCard, also of Griffin; nieces and nephews, Lisa Jackson and husband John, Shelly Willingham and husband Scott, Jamie Cannady and husband Craig, Roxanne Jones, Tonia Cooper and husband Shane, Tammy Carter and husband Jarrett Whitehead, Rebecca Matthews and Julian Craig, Dena Hilyer and fiancé Shawn Graves, Tony Slaughter, and Rhonda Whitehead and husband Jeff; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews also survive; and special friends who were like family Sandra Glaze and Pastor Mark Barfield and wife Florence. Funeral services for Bobby Wallace McCard will be conducted Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at West Sunnyside Community Church with Reverend Henry Anderson and Reverend Richie Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with his sister, Reverend Beverly McCard Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00PM -8:00 PM at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home.
